Calasiao LGU Embraces Digital Shift with Comprehensive eLGU Training

CALASIAO, Pangasinan – May 30, 2025 – The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Calasiao today announced the successful conclusion of its four-day “eLGU Data Build-up and Administrative Training,” marking a significant stride towards modernizing public service delivery and enhancing digital accessibility for its constituents. Held from May 27 to 30, 2025, the intensive program equipped LGU personnel with the expertise to navigate and manage the eLGU system.

The comprehensive training focused on three pivotal online applications, empowering the LGU to streamline transactions for Calasiao residents and fulfill national mandates for digital governance:

  • Business Permit and License Application: Enabling entrepreneurs to apply for and renew business permits and licenses conveniently online.
  • Online Application for Local Registry Documents: Facilitating easy online application to avail essential civil registry documents, including birth, marriage, and death certificates
  • Online Application and Payment for Community Tax Certificates (Cedula): Simplifying the process of securing a Cedula through a user-friendly online platform.

Maria Victoria P. Del Rosario, Market Supervisor V and BPLO Designate, who spearheaded the initiative alongside Arvil Joshua Z. Camacho, Information Technology Officer I, emphasized the importance of the program. “This training is crucial for our personnel to harness the power of the eLGU system fully,” Del Rosario stated. “We are committed to making government transactions faster, easier, and more accessible for every resident of Calasiao.”

Camacho added, “The eLGU system represents a significant leap forward in our digital transformation. We’ve equipped our staff to provide seamless online services, truly bringing the LGU to the fingertips of Calasiao residents.”

The successful facilitation of the training was a collaborative effort with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). The DICT team, comprising Rafael Sotto, Allen Victorio, Loren Cañero, and Clarise Abenes, provided expert guidance and technical support throughout the four-day program. The DICT’s involvement was led by Mary Jane Nerona, the Provincial Head for DICT in Pangasinan, underscoring the national government’s commitment to supporting LGUs in their digitalization journey.

This eLGU data build-up and administrative training marks a pivotal moment for Calasiao, promising more efficient, accessible, and transparent government services for its citizens. The LGU’s commitment to digital innovation is expected to significantly improve the overall experience of transacting with the local government.
